Reconsider Your Next Purchase

ReverseGarbage has a new shopfront in the heart of Redfern, ReConsidered. The shop space aims to inspire customers to see value and function in materials which have been thrown to the wayside. A great place to find affordable interior décor and furnishings, sustainable art works and a range of other curiosities.

Launched earlier this year, the new outlet sits along Redfern’s Regent Street. Tangled between various op-shops ReConsidered is confident that its processes are unique. All products on display have been up-cycled by Reverse Garbage’s ReStore and ReCreate Team. This creative bunch of  artists, educators and designers are committed to the organisation’s mission ‘to practice reuse and work exclusively with only reuse materials’. From chair’s refurbished with hessian coffee bags, to antique crockery, you’ll find something new every time you visit.

Once a month there’s exhibitions of artworks and art installations made by local designers to promote their work and the use of recycled materials to create art.

There’s plenty to choose from as Reverse Garbage continues to collect tonnes of valuable materials including off-cuts, over-runs, art & craft materials, stage props, knickknacks, furniture and other items. 40 years of establishment has led to contributions from hundreds of supporting commercial and industrial businesses, as well as the generosity of the local community.
